Installing and Uninstalling OCM for VMware vCenter

Components

Best Installation Practices

• To avoid network latencies, ensure that all the ESX hosts managed, the OCM for VMware

vCenter Server and the host installed with OCM for VMware vCenter are in the same network.

• To avoid configuration conflicts, install the OCM for VMware vCenter Server and OCM for

VMware vCenter on different hosts within the same network.

Prerequisites

Hardware Requirements

• Physical or virtual (x86/x86_64) servers with a minimum RAM of 2 Gb/s and 250 Mb/s of disk

space

Software Requirements

• VMware ESX / ESXi environment 4.0, 4.1 or 5.0

• Operating system - Windows Server 2003/2008(32/64 bit) or Windows 7 (64 bit)

• Adobe Flash Player 10.x or later

• vCenter Server 4.0, 4.1 or 5.0

• VI Infrastructure Client 4.0, 4.1 or 5.0

• OneCommand Manager Core Kit (for VMware ESX / COS environments only)

• Emulex CIM providers

• FC provider 2.2.42.1 or later

• UCNA provider 1.1.11.1 or later

• Driver and Firmware Requirements

a. LightPulse adapters

• Driver version: lpfc820_400.8.2.0.76.20 (or later)

• Firmware: Latest firmware available for your LightPulse card on the Emulex

website

b. OneConnect adapters

Note: The OneCommand Manager Core Kit must be installed on the ESX server that is to

be managed by OCM for VMware vCenter.

Note: On the system where OCM for VMware vCenter is installed, make sure the port

numbers configured during the installation are open and dedicated to the OCM for

VMware vCenter server only. No other service should be listening on this port.

Note: For ESXi / Visor environments, the Emulex CIM provider offline bundle carries both

FC and UCNA CIM providers.
